History[04]
DataEase (originally Datamaster) was created in the early 1980s by Arun Gupta and Joseph Busch. The first version was first released in 1981 by Software Solutions Inc. It emphasized visual development for non-programmers. In 1991, the company then merged with Sapphire International Corporation of the United Kingdom, which continues to develop and market the software. The product line split into DataEase for DOS and DataEase for Windows, with recent releases including LegEasy9.
It was also rebranded by Amstrad as Infomaster in the late the 1980s.
