ElephantDB is a database designed to provide an API for reading key/value data from Hadoop. It consists of two components: a library used in MapReduce jobs to create indexed key/value datasets on distributed filesystems, and a daemon that serves these datasets in a read-only, random-access fashion via a Thrift interface.
