History

RainStor was originally founded as Clearpace in 2002 in the United Kingdom, based on technology developed by the UK's Ministry of Defense for storing data from field operations. The company rebranded to RainStor in 2009 to reflect its focus on relational archiving infrastructure storage.

Teradata acquired RainStor in 2014, and it remained part of its portfolio until December 2016.
