History[04]

Informix originated as a database product developed by Informix Corporation. IBM acquired the company's Informix Software subsidiary in 2001. In April 2017, IBM delegated Informix development and support to HCLSoftware under a 15-year agreement with automatic annual renewals. The arrangement allowed IBM to continue marketing and selling IBM Informix and HCL to market and sell HCL Informix. Both IBM Informix and HCL Informix released version 15.0.0.1 in March 2025.
