History

Developed by Tokutek, TokuMX was publicly announced in 2013 as an alternative storage engine for MongoDB. This was before MongoDB supported plug-gable back-end storage engines.

Tokutek was acquired by Percona in November 2015. Active development under the original Tokutek brand ceased following the acquisition.
